River of People

Stood,
Amid a river,
A river of people,
A thousand strange people,
Moving, stopping, looking,
Treating him as a rock,
Riding the eddies he creates,
Flowing towards him
Unable to avoid an inevitable fate.

Some settle to watch
Those who mill around,
Lost to a world of confusion,
A world full of mystery
Which no one can solve.

Receiving him, Ignoring him,
Pretending he doesn't exist,
Pretending no one exists,
In a world of there own,
Which they cannot escape.
